About Us
Founder, Mark E, Barrie, Has been bowhunting since the early 1970's, and the Barrie Family has over 150 yrs of bowhunting and archery experience,with family members in the archery Hall of Fame. In 2001 Mark began building primitive bows (selfbows) and in the fall of 2002 harvested his first animal a whitetail doe with his first selfbow. He has never turned back continuing to only hunt with primitive equipment. He then started Primitive Bowhunter, a production company with the intention of producing primitive bowhunting videos, and also producing instructional and informational videos.
Mark is also an official Pope & Young Club Measurer, appointed to the position in 2007. His other goal for Primitive Bowhunter is to provide products and quality bows, and also be able to show other hunter's harvest video sent in to show all the great primitive and traditional bowhunters all over the world and unite us all through his videos. He does not buy trophy animals and feels that a trophy is discribed by the hunter not society and a trophy could be a 100 inch buck depending on the hunter.
